Another first for AI&S!

Another first for Associated Iron and Steel!

Today marks a big step forward in AI&S’s continuous strive for equality in the workplace. An inclusive and diverse workforce is a key value AI&S are pushing hard to achieve. It’s a goal which we believe is critical to our people, our clients, and also the wider community, and we are committed to the journey.

A significant step in our drive was achieved this week, with the hiring of @Mattia Uusimaki, a female third-year apprentice boilermaker. Mattia was looking to strengthen her skill levels by working for an organisation that offers a variety of complex and difficult projects. Up till now, Mattia’s work involved carrying out repetitive work on one or two product lines every day. At AI&S Mattia will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small consumable items, through to the largest of mining components.

It is also with great pleasure that we welcome on board this week, Aleksandra Joshovska, our new Part Time Payroll and Accounts Officer.  Aleksandra is originally from Macedonia and has been in Australia for approximately six years. Having first moved to Melbourne from Macedonia she now has made the Sunshine State her home. Aleksandra has a tertiary qualification in financial management and speaks no less than 5 languages. Aleksandra will initially work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome these ladies to our organisation and thank them for helping us with our commitment to an inclusive and diverse workforce.
