Associated Iron & Steels client, who is Australias largest supplier of materials handling equipment approached us on advice in regards to damage to one of their heavy duty forklifts. 

They were facing a large cost of replacement parts (over $20,000) and a wait time of a couple months on the parts that included, a new differential housing and mast. 

When faced with a prospect of having a large bill for the replacement and machine downtime, the client approached AI&S for our thoughts and reccomendation.  

Damage to the units was extensive there was a lot of wear in both the items as the bushes that these two parts pivot in were ruined.  

AI&S devised a strategy for the repairs and submitted their costing to the client.   The repair work came in at less than half the cost of having to replace just one of the units, not both. 

Work is now underway to have the parts brought back to a serviceable condition.
